Annamrita Project

Annamrita meaning “Food as Pure as Nectar” is the Midday Meal Scheme of the Government of India being implemented by Annamrita Food Relief Foundation. Annamrita Food Relief Foundation is a not-for-profit, non-religious, non-sectarian public charitable trust formed on April 23, 2004 and registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950.

Annamrita believes in providing children with the right nutrition to support their education. Our program is based on the belief that ‘you are what you eat’. Therefore one nutritious meal prepared with compassion and love, the way a mother would prepare a meal for her child, brings thousands of children to school daily.

Annamrita serves 1.2 million meals through its 20 kitchens across India everyday. We have a presence in 7 states namely - Maharashtra, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and Jharkhand.

Annamrita has long resolved to uplift the health status of children by liberating them from the vicious cycle of Illiteracy and Malnutrition by providing them nutritious, satvik food prepared in hi-tech kitchen which nourishes the body and nurtures the soul.
