So much has changed since a pandemic set in. There was a lockdown, which led to lakhs of people losing their jobs and sources of income. In the process, Annamrita Foundation was one of the numerous NGOs in India that came forward to help those in need. While lakhs of people have lost access to nutrition and were staring into the depths of hunger, we leveraged our 16 years of expertise and numerous kitchens to rise to the occasion. With the help of your donation for NGO food distribution, our NGO in India was able to make a difference in the lives of many.

In the beginning, we started off delivering meals to a meager 30,000 people each day. As more benevolent donors and corporates came forward to support our mission, we were able to reach nutrition to lakhs of people. As an NGO in Mumbai, we started our efforts by feeding the hospital staff working in and around Mumbai. This included doctors, nurses, lab assistants, back office staff, and several others. By providing this, we were able to support those who were battling COVID-19 on the frontlines. Further, our focus turned to Municipal workers who are the backbone of a functional city. So we went on to deliver meals to people dedicatedly serving in departments of Solid Waste Management, Maintenance, Public Health, Water, Social Justice, and Disaster Management. Your NGO donation played a vital role when it came to expanding our reach beyond Mumbai.

With the support of thousands of donors, we extended our reach to people in other parts of Maharashtra, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Andhra Pradesh. We are located across various cities in India and we have NGOs in Kolkata, Jaipur, Aurangabad, Jalna and so on. In order to make this possible, we joined hands with numerous NGOs in India.

How the process worked?

For every donation of Rs.21, we were able to deliver meals to one person in need. With every donation, we were able to procure raw materials, cook them in a hygienic environment, package them, and deliver them to localities that needed help. Having received support from numerous NGOs in India, we were able to deliver food to people living in high-risk regions. At times, we were able to deliver food door-to-door, all while following safety precautions. Further, we also delivered dry ration to several families in different cities.

What impact have we created?

So far, we were able to deliver over 1.8 crore meals and with your help, we can reach out to more people.
